Nick's Adventure

Three Hands Of Hope reached out to us and offered to take Nick fishing! He’s been fishing before but not like this. Our entire family was treated to a cabin near Lake Ontario. We had campfires, dinner out, chartered fishing and even a little baseball in the back yard. My kids had a blast. The hospitality was amazing. After everything we’ve been through it was so nice to just show up and relax because everything was taken care of. Nick is now an avid fisherman. He goes every chance he gets and I credit THOH for introducing him to a new passion.
After our fishing trip we were invited to invite those of our family and friends who supported us during our time of treatment. We had a buffet dinner and one of the fish Nick caught was mounted and presented to him. It now hangs in his room as a trophy. I’m sure it will be proudly displayed is his own home someday.
Our family was also invited to go trout fishing. Although Nick and his dad were unsuccessful, the picnic dinner and company on a warm summer night was great.
Last summer Chad reached out to see if we want to go to a Phillies game. My son played baseball for years and my daughter plays softball. We are a baseball family. Of course we went! The kids had a blast but of my grandfather and I it was a trip of a lifetime. We were treated to dinner, and our seats were on the Hall Of Fame level. Prior to the game we got to meet players and have baseballs signed at batting practice. It was amazing. It’s definitely any experience I as a parent will cherish.
